Food Drives – many individuals and organizations sponsor food drives throughout the year. From the National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive, held in April each year, to food drives held during the holiday season to local civic organizations food drives, the Suncoast Harvest Food Bank helps organize food drives, picks up donated foods, and distributes food products to the needy. USDA Commodities Distribution – The food bank distributes USDA Commodity foods to the needy in Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and Sumter.  Select emergency feeding organizations distribute food to families and the food bank directly distributes commodities at multiple sites each month. Fresh Recovery is a program operated through Sam's Club, Walmart, Winn Dixie, Publix, Target, Sweetbay, Aldi, Save-A-Lot. Fresh produce, meat and dairy products that are close to expiration are picked up by SHFB trucks on a daily basis and then quickly distributed to our partner agencies.

USDA Commodity Distribution (TEFAP) provides food to numerous sites where commodities and other items are distributed monthly to families in need.
